Angies Sub Shop Qittles
Angie's Sub Shop in Jacksonville Beach Florida Qittles

Angie's Sub Shop is a local hot spot. Everyone who lives or works at Jacksonville beach goes there at least once a week. If you forget to call your order ahead at lunchtime, you are forced to wait in a serious line to pay for your sub.

There were two main things that made Qittle a perfect partner for Angie's:

-One of the major demographics in the areas is the local high school and college students who are very text savvy.

-Some of their specials are so popular that people will call just as Angie's is opening to see what the specials are for that day. (Angie's has one called the "Ham Jam" that will pre-sellout before lunch even starts). The owner, Ed, was someone who had never used SMS personally or for his business.

In the beginning, he naturally had some reservations about this new marketing technique, but once I showed him the ease and effectiveness of the ability to reach out to people through mobile phones, he was hooked. He built up different databases for different local schools by using specific sub keywords. He got the kids to "opt in" by telling them that he would pick one number every day, and send one person a digital coupon for a free sub. Then he would send the coupon (sometimes many) out about an hour before lunch period so that the kids would be bragging about it in class and inspiring other kids to "opt in."

What Ed likes most is the fact that he can now send mass text coupons to all the kids at school (as well as his other databases), right before lunch, while they are hungry and making a choice about where to eat.

He has repeatedly stressed that he thinks that the ability to get in front of his target market during the decision process is extremely effective.

Ed has also used Qittle is his "specials update" database. The constant calls inquiring about the specials of the day began to hassle Ed as well as his employees. Qittle created another sub keyword for a "specials update" database. He was able to get people to "opt in" without offering anything other than information about his specials. He now uses SMS to update his entire database in the morning about his specials. While this only takes him a couple of minutes, it saves time and aggravation at having to answer the phone. Qittle has helped Ed not only grow his already thriving business, but also keep his customers updated and his day-to-day operations more efficient.
