| Send Text Messages People have a need to communicate with others – and as long as this need sustains, people call, text, or simply talk to others. Although calling had once dominated the cell phone industry, it seems that people these days have learned to slow down a bit to send text messages – not the easy and faster option of just whipping out their cell phones to call others. Still, it might take a few seconds or minutes to compose a text message but it sure costs a whole lot less than a minute of phone call. Yes, you can send text messages using complete sentences with complete words – but why do so when you can send them in shortcuts? It saves you the time of texting all those letters together. In fact, through the years, a new kind of language was developed – text messaging and chat language. It has become so popular that there is a new dictionary dedicated to text messaging, chat abbreviations, and jargons. Who would have thought that sentences and phrases could be represented by a few letters and characters? For instance, “?4U” represents “I have a question for you” while “NALOPKT” means “Not a lot of people know that”. “ROTFLUTS” means “Rolling on the floor laughing unable to speak” while “ST&D” means “Stop texting and drive”. The medium, through which people can send SMS like the text messaging language, has also expanded through the years. Of course, people can still send messages from their cell phones. However, they could also do the same thing – texting someone else’s mobile phone – from a computer. Many websites are even offering the service for free. In fact, these websites have become so popular that local cellular network providers are slowly adding such service for their clients.
